About Second Pass Books

Second Pass Books is an online independent bookstore founded by booklover, editor and writer, M. E. (Michelle) Smith @mesmith_writes in 2022.

Born and raised on Whadjuk Nyoongar land in Boorloo (Perth), Michelle has been an avid reader and lover of the written word since the age of 3. She is a sole parent of twins, who have inherited her book loving trait.

Second Pass Books consider their main business to be new book sales, focusing on works written and illustrated by authors from Australia and those now living in Australia. We currently sell printed books with future plans to expand into e-books and audiobooks.

​

We also sell secondhand books to promote sustainability and complementary products to add to the reader's experience. Currently, we sell Izzy & Ella Candle Co fragranced candles as well as "designed for us" bookish cards by author Fionna Cosgrove.

Our main aims are to support the Australian arts industry through promotion of our great local/Australian talent and literature, and to stay true to our independence.
